The Amphictyonic Council

The Amphictyonic Council

The aftermath of the trojan war

“Tell me, O Muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy.”

The rage of the decade long Trojan war has finally come to an end. Resulting from the battle, law and order is fractured across the Mediterranean and city-states must scramble to revitalize their societies. During the war, divine powers handed weapons directly to mortals to provide aid throughout the battle; meaning divine artifacts remained loose in the mortal world afterwards.

On top of the struggle of moderating these weapons, the absence of militaries and leaders for an extended period of time has left states puzzled with power vacancies. Resulting from this, smaller civil wars break out which directly impact moral piety and necessary systemic worship. Delegates will represent Greek gods in an ancient, divine adaptation of the United Nations Security Council. Delegates must establish a framework in order to track and seize these mortal weapons while also reinstating order throughout Ancient Greece. How can you, as gods, oversee your armed mortal children? How can you stabilize mortal kingdoms while also ensuring divine worship stays alive? Yet whispers have begun to spread throughout Olympus. Weapons are still left unaccounted for, and not every god is willing to surrender what they once bestowed upon their champions.

As past rivalries resurface and mortal ambitions threaten to disorganize divine order, one question lingers over the council: was the fall of Troy truly the end of the war, or rather the beginning of something far greater?
